There are several drug rehabilitation programs available in Michigan for those convicted of drug crimes. As part of your Sentence Analysis, we evaluate your background and facts of the case and then recommend various treatment facilities. There are four types of treatment available, each of which may help you qualify for a Drug Deferral [Link] 

  1. Inpatient rehabilitation programs.  Clients with a severe addiction may require an inpatient facility that includes a structured schedule.  There is typically medical, psychiatric and counseling services built into the program.  
  2. Outpatient rehabilitation programs. For those with a less severe addiction, there are several outpatient rehabilitation options. Counseling is geared to correct the cause of the addiction, such as anxiety, depression or cravings. 
  3. Medically assisted treatment programs. Medically assisted treatment [MAT] uses medications such as methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone to help patients to tame withdrawal symptoms and eliminate drug and alcohol cravings.   
  4. 12-step meetings.12-step meetings such as Narcotics Anonymous (NA) and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) are free and require no registration.  The only requirement is a desire to stay sober.    

Drug rehabilitation programs will can keep you sober, and favorably impact your sentence. Participation shows the Judge you are committed to staying sober, and less likely to break the law again. Judges will consider your involvement in a rehabilitation program when deciding your sentence for a drug charge.
